AC home charging

The BYD DOLPHIN charging time UK for AC charging depends on the on-board charger equipped with each trim. The Active trim features a 7 kW AC charger. The Boost trim features an 11 kW 3-phase AC charger. The Comfort and Design trims both feature an 11 kW on-board charger.

For the Comfort and Design trims with the 60.4 kWh battery, a 0–100% charge takes 6 h 12 min using an 11 kW AC supply, according to the 2025 official technical data. The vehicle uses a standard CCS2 charging port.

DC rapid charging

Rapid charging specifications differ across the models and between the 2024 launch media pack and the 2025 official data sheet.

For the 44.9 kWh models, the 2024 media pack states the Active trim supports up to 60/65 kW DC charging, while the Boost trim supports 65 kW DC charging. A 30–80% charge takes 28 min for both of these trims.

For the 60.4 kWh models (Comfort and Design trims), the charging speeds have been updated. The 2024 media pack originally listed 88 kW DC charging with a 30–80% time of 29 min. However, the 2025 official technical data sheet states that the maximum DC charging rate is 110 kW. At this updated rate, a 10–80% charge takes 36 min, and a 30–80% charge takes 26 min.

All models feature a heat pump, which provides direct battery cooling and heating, delivering +15% winter thermal efficiency. The Comfort and Design trims also feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology outputting up to 3.3 kW. The Design trim specifically adds a V2L power strip. The car features CRBS coordinated regenerative braking.
